Fant's four targets were tied for the team high, but the tight end had an overall tough day at the office. His eight yards were a season low as the Broncos squeezed out a win in a low-scoring affair. Fellow tight end Albert Okwuegbunam made his return to the field and played 49 percent of Denver's offensive snaps, compared to Fant's 77 percent share. With Okwuegbunam and wideout Jerry Jeudy finally back, Fant may have a difficult time providing consistent production.
The year-old will have to clear the league's COVID protocols before attempting to get back on track in a Week 9 matchup against the Cowboys. Fant brought in five of seven targets for 39 yards in the Broncos ' loss to the Browns on Thursday night. Fant drew even with Courtland Sutton for second in receptions on the night for Denver and also checked in as the runner-up, albeit a distant one, in receiving yards. The third-year tight end now has 14 receptions on 18 targets over the last two games, a level of volume he and fantasy managers will hope persists in Week 8 against Washington a week from Sunday.
Fant foot practiced fully Wednesday and doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game in Cleveland, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Fant is good to go on a short week and will be coming off his best performance of the season, as he delivered a line on 11 targets while the Broncos were forced into catchup mode for most of last Sunday's loss to the Raiders. Another healthy dose of targets should be headed Fant's way Week 7 regardless of the game script, though he may have to make do with Drew Lock at quarterback rather than Teddy Bridgewater.
After being listed as a limited participant throughout the week while tending to foot and quadriceps injuries, Bridgewater is questionable for Thursday's contest. Fant remained limited on the Broncos' second injury report of Week 7 prep. Meanwhile, Teddy Bridgewater also has had a cap on his practice reps, and there's no guarantee he'll be available Thursday at Cleveland. Fant is coming off a three-game stretch in which he earned plus percent of the offensive snaps each time on his way to 18 catches on 25 targets for yards and two TDs.
Assuming he's cleared for Thursday's contest, he'll look to keep it going with Bridgewater under center, which may not be confirmed until 90 minutes before the p.
EDT kickoff. Denver lists Fant as a limited participant on Monday's estimated practice report due to a foot injury, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos ' official site reports. Fant feasted in garbage time of Sunday's loss to the Raiders, with much of his stat line on a season-high 11 targets coming in the second half, when the Broncos were forced to lean heavily on the passing game.
The tight end looks like he may have hurt his foot at some point along the way, but the fact that he's being listed as limited on the Broncos' first Week 7 injury report suggests he's on a path to play Thursday in Cleveland. Fant caught nine of 11 targets for 97 yards and one touchdown against Las Vegas on Sunday. The Broncos offense struggled for much of the game, and Fant didn't really get into high gear until the second half, but this box score is elite tight-end production and the level of play Fant might be more regularly capable of if the Broncos keep sending the targets his way.

If you pick in the first six picks you probably aren't taking Kelce, which means you shouldn't take a tight end until Round 3 at the earliest. This is where you have to do the mental math as to whether Waller and Kittle are worth what you'll pass on in early in Round 3, if you don't think so, Mark Andrews will probably be there late in Round 4.
If you miss the top four, I prefer to wait until Round 8 and take Fant. If you miss Fant, I'd take a pair of the tight ends going in the double-digit rounds. Preferably, one young and one old. If you have a pick in the back half of the first round, you can avoid all of this by just taking Travis Kelce with your first pick.
If you miss him, you should be happy to land Waller or Kittle after Round 3. If you miss them, you can follow the same flow chart from before. If you're in a tight end-premium league, Kelce should be a top-three pick and Waller-Kittle are worth consideration at the turn.
Everyone else gets a two-round boost. Austin Hooper at Kansas City Chiefs. Hooper should have less attention with Odell Beckham back on the field and the Browns should have plenty of pass volume thanks to the Chiefs high-powered offense. The Chiefs gave up the third-most Fantasy points to tight ends last year. Mike Gesicki at New England Patriots. This is not a good matchup, but we already know Will Fuller will miss Week 1 and there's no guarantee Devante Parker will be healthy either.
Gesicki could be the team's second option in the passing game, and their first option could be rookie Jaylen Waddle. So which sleepers, breakouts and busts should you target and fade?
